FLAT TRACK AMA PRO FLAT TRACK SERIES ROUND 14 / SEPTEMBER 25, 2016 SONOMA COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS / SANTA ROSA, CALIFORNIA P84 "It was amazing. It was one of those days that I will never ever forget. Today was a big part of my career," said Kopp. "The bike was awesome. I knew it was pretty good coming in here. I had never gone heads up with anybody in all the testing I had done. Even in practice I was with a kind of slower group of guys, so I couldn't judge off them too much. When I went out in the was out front, but air comes up and my right eye was fluttering. It was a distraction. You ride tense and it makes you tired and you use more energy. "Going into turn one there is a little bit of a bump, or a pretty big bump where everybody is coming onto the race track. It got so gnarly that I was actually standing up a little bit and literally jumping into the corner. That's pretty crazy to be doing at 130 plus miles per hour." All in all it was an excellent day for Joe Kopp, as he debuted the Indian Scout FTR750. Kopp was able to win the Dash for Cash before getting the holeshot and leading lap one of the National. to get over because it was so close. I felt we were dominant all year. We matched him in wins. We stepped up everywhere we needed to step up. I feel like we got beat this year on two races that were goose eggs for us, Springfield and Sacramento." All the while the track and vision were Baker's main chal- lenges. "Halfway through the race, my tape that I use to seal off between my eyes and my nose guard came undone," said Baker. "That's what keeps the dirt and dust from underneath my helmet and getting into my eyes. With that coming undone, I was getting all the crud in my eyes. It wasn't so bad because I (Above) Joe Kopp debuted the all-new Indian FTR750 and placed a respectable seventh. (Right) Ryan Wells wore the number-one plate for the first time and he wore it well, winning the GNC2 main.
