HAAKER AGAIN AT PHOENIX ENDUROCROSS

olton Haaker took a con-
vincing win at the fourth
round of the 2016 AMA Enduro-
Cross series in Phoenix, Arizo-
na, September 24. The Rock-
star Energy Husqvarna factory
rider had an exciting battle with
Red Bull KTM's Taylor Robert
early in the race before making
the move to take the lead on
lap five of the 15-lap final and
steadily pulled away for the win.
This was Haaker's third win in
four races so far.
Haaker's main title rival, Cody
Webb, also made the pass on
Robert and was a safe second
as he started the final lap, and
then disaster struck. Webb
broke his chain and started
pushing his bike toward the
finish. Robert rode past to take
second while an exhausted
Webb continued to push his
bike. Robert then dropped his
bike and helped Webb com-
plete the final lap. Webb was
not credited for crossing the
finish as he had missed a few
obstacles and received outside
assistance but still maintained
third because they had already
lapped Mike Brown, the fourth-
place finisher.
"I came in a little rusty due to
an injury so I was glad we had
a weekend off," said Haaker of
the solid evening that included
winning his heat race and set-
ting the fastest evening Hot Lap,
both of which earn a bonus
championship point. "I had an
