PRAMAC'S FIGHT TO FACTORY
T
he old adage "the first person you
have to beat is your teammate"
gained a special piquancy for Pramac
Ducati riders Scott Redding and
Danilo Petrucci at Aragon, after a team
decision that points in the latter half
of the season will determine which of
them gets a factory Ducati next year.
Just one factory Desmosedici
will be given to the team, and they
decided it will go to whichever of the
pair scores more points in the races
from Brno to the end of the year.
"We had a discussion, and be-
cause I had so many mechanical
failures early in the year and Danilo
was injured, it would be fair to start
from Brno," said Redding.

SUTER BACK FOR 2017
S
wiss racing manufacturer Suter, once domi-
nant in Moto2, is set for a small-scale come-
back to a class now under the complete control
of Kalex, after Jonas Folger followed up earlier
successful tests by Mattia Pasini, and came back
with a glowing report.
It was enough to convince his current team,
Dynavolt Intact, to switch from Kalex to Suter for
2017, although by then Folger will have departed
to join Tech3 in MotoGP.
His current teammate Sandro Cortese will be
joined by fellow-German Marcel Schrotter on the
redux Suters.
Italtrans, currently fielding Mattia Pasini, is also
contemplating the same move, and likewise the
Kiefer team, presently running in Leopard colors
with Miguel Oliveira and Danny Kent, is likewise
considering the switch.
Kiefer is a former title-winning team, with Stefan
Bradl in 2011. And while Kent will be staying with
the team, American PJ Jacobson is currently top
of the list to replace the departing Oliveira.

Suter was dominant in the first years of
Moto2 (its bikes seen here in 2010). We'll
see more on the Moto2 grid next year.
