ROAD RACE FIM WORLD SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 10 / SEPTEMBER 16-18, 2016 EUROSPEEDWAY VERWALTUNGS / LAUSITZRING, GERMANY P62 RACE ONE 1. Chaz Davies (Duc) 2. Tom Sykes (Kaw) 3. Nicky Hayden (Hon) 4. Jordi Torres (BMW) 5. Leon Camier (MV) RACE TWO 1. Jonathan Rea (Kaw) 2. Alex De Angelis (Apr) 3. Xavi Fores (Duc) 4. Leon Camier (MV) 5. Sylvain Guintoli (Yam) WORLDSSP 1. Kenan Sofuoglu (Kaw) 2. Niki Tuuli (Yam) 3. Jules Cluzel (MV) 4. PJ Jacobsen (Hon) 5. Federico Caricasulo (Hon) so he has great hopes for more on his home patch on October 2. America's PJ Jacobsen scored fourth, fighting off an- other tough young Honda nut that is Federico Caricasulo. "Today was really good for us," Jacobsen said. "A fourth in the race felt like a podium to me, given how much we struggled this weekend. I really couldn't figure the track out and find the right setup to be fully competi- tive. In the race, I never gave up and kept going and did my best time on the final lap. I just wish the race could have been longer! Thanks to the team for never giving up as well. We'll come back stronger in Magny- Cours, a track where I won last year. I'm really looking forward to racing there." CN "Tuuli was a surprise to me, but I had a very good pace," said Sofuoglu of his win. "After six or seven laps I had a real tire problems, so much spinning and vibration. We chose a different one, the harder one, to have a full race easier but it did not hap- pen the way we expected. But no problem." Tuuli, just 1.7 seconds back at the flag but never too far from Sofuoglu's GOAT shadow in this contest, races in Finland and is not a WSBK regular by any means. "Sisu" is an untranslat- able Finnish word meaning spirit, guts, indomitability—all those good things—and on this showing at least, Tuuli has it in spades. A happy podium returnee was Jules Cluzel, on a revamped and improved official MV Agusta F3, PJ Jacobsen narrowly missed out on getting on the WorldSSP podium.
