Jackson Blackmon (KTM) Dunlop has been announced as the control tire for all five of the MotoAmerica classes: Superbike, Superstock 1000, Supersport, Supersport 600 and the KTM RC Cup. The new deal extends Dun- lop's presence in the MotoAmerica paddock for the next three years. Dunlop has been the control tire supplier to the Superbike cham- pionship for eight consecutive years, including the first two of Mo- toAmerica. 2016 KTM RC Cup Champion Brandon Paasch will head to Eu- rope for two important events. First up, Paasch will contest the KTM RC Cup World Final at Assen on October 2 as part of the U.S. con- tingent that includes compatriots Anthony Mazziotto III and Ash- ton Yates, and second is an all- important CEV Moto3 at Catalunya test with a possible full-time move to Europe on the cards for next season. "I really don't know where I'm going, there's a good chance of a 600 Superstock ride but the CEV test will be real important," said Paasch. "I can't say what team it is but I'll be trying hard to see where the test leads!" Melissa Paris countered the disap- pointment of not making it through the Superstock LCQ with the news she is heading to the Bol d'Or 24 Hour in France next week. Part of the same The Girls Racing Team outfit that she contested and won the Superstock 600 category in the 2015 Catalunya 24 Hours with, Paris tested at the iconic French venue last week and is optimistic of a good result. "The bike feels good and the girls are all fast, so it'll be great to get back to some Europe- an Endurance racing following this weekend," she said. Corey Alexander was a little worse for wear following a huge crash on Saturday, the New York rider hit- ting the deck at the fast entry of turn one and all but destroying one of his two Ducati 1199 Panigale R machines. "He was a little fast on the entry," said Corey's race team member, Rich Alexander, rather sarcastically. Alexander still fronted the grid for Sunday's races, finish- ing 17th in race one but retiring with a mechanical DNF in race two. Cory West made a welcome return to the AMA Superbike paddock at New Jersey, riding the Scheibe Racing BMW S 1000 RR. The for- mer factory EBR rider has spent the majority of the 2016 season club racing on his privately owned BMW S 1000 RR, and left New Jersey Motorsports Park with 15-13 results. Australian teenager Jarrod Brook took part in his very first road race in the KTM RC Cup at New Jersey. More famous for his exploits on the dirt including three AMA National Dirt Track Championships and the 2016 AMA Dirt Track Horizon Award, Brook handled himself well by taking 20-26 positions. That may not sound too impressive but bear in mind he'd never even practiced on a street bike before fronting the RC Cup grid and his fastest lap of the race was only 3.6 seconds off race winner and 2016 champion Brandon Paasch!
