ROAD RACE ROUND 9 / SEPTEMBER 11, 2016 NEW JERSEY MOTORSPORTS PARK / MILLVILLE, NEW JERSEY P66 MOTOAMERICA AMA/FIM NORTH AMERICAN ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP straight usually finishes second because the draft here is so important," Paasch said. "If you get the slipstream right you can usually slingshot into the lead, and that's what happened for Barry today." Barry's win was the first of his RC Cup career in the dry, his previous win coming at the same circuit in the rain during round three. "Brandon was trying to get me to go in front but I wasn't biting," Barry said with a smile. "Before the last corner I was already gaining on Brandon and the straight was coming up quick, so I just went for it and managed to get the win." Ashton Yates managed to get the better of Smith for the final podium place of the season and will head to Assen for the KTM RC Cup World Final on October 2 alongside Paasch and Anthony Mazziotto III. Mazziotto earned the ironman award in New Jersey by doing double duty in the RC Cup and Superstock 600 category. The championship runner-up took 7-6 results in the RC Cup at New Jersey and backed it up with strong 12-11 finishes on the Ya- maha YZF-R6 for Jimmy Winters Motorsports. "Midrace yesterday on the 600 I was gassed out," said the diminutive Mazziotto. "Today was a lot better on both bikes and I'm looking forward to getting up there next year on the Super- stock podium. I also can't wait to get over to Assen for the RC Cup final and I'm heading over there with two of my buddies, so I'm excited to go kick some ass!" KTM and MotoAmerica used the New Jersey round to renew their partnership for next sea- son, with MotoAmerica CEO Wayne Rainey saying, "The class is working just the way we envisioned it and we've already seen some of the kids making the jump to the next level and having success. I love watching the progress of the kids both on and off the track." The 2016 title thus goes to Paasch with 311 points ahead of Mazziotto with 266. Ashton Yates takes third at 239 over Barry's 195 and Alejandro Guti- errez with 142. CN Jody Barry blasts over the line to take a calculated win in race two.
