CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "The more brands we have winning, the more brands we have participating. Win-win for the sport." Charlotte MXGP Well, the track was cool but kind of one-lined—goat ruts. CBSSN coverage was lousy; I missed Jason Weigandt and Grant Langston on the color commentary. Hoping Glen Helen GP will be a better race. James "Bonecrusher" Smith Watching this race I thought, "What a great track for the AMA SX circuit." I also thought if you are going to have a world round MX in the States, put them on a real outdoor track so we can see how they stack up. Not sure if this track favored our U.S. riders but it sure didn't favor "outdoor" riders. Dan Connolly Dan, you will get your wish this weekend. The final round of the FIM Motocross World Championship is being held at Glen Helen Raceway. –Editor Triumph Streamliner Regarding the otherwise excel- lent article on the new Triumph streamliner, I felt the need to correct the comment about the origins of the Texas Ceegar. The bodywork could not have originated with a F-4 Phantom fuel tank as the XF4H-1 Phan- tom prototype first flew in May of 1958. As a Triumph rider myself, I hope Guy Martin and the rest of the team are successful in setting a new world record. They have built a truly spectac- ular machine for the task. Robert Arance Maverick Vinales! Friggin' awesome job from Maverick and factory Suzuki for the return to the top of the box at Silverstone! James Savatgy What a great day for Suzuki and for MotoGP. The more brands we have participating, the better for the sport and the fans. The more brands we have winning, the more brands we have participating. Win-win for the sport. Mac Mclemore Springfield Mile The Springfield Mile never fails to thrill, excite, surprise—take your pick. That was some great racing and did not disappoint the fans. Anonymous Nothing better than the Spring- field Mile. I've been going every year for 57 years except for a tour to Vietnam in 1967. Love the Mile! Bob Walters The Harley-Davidson Story Fellow Motorcyclists and His- tory Buffs: The story of the Harley-Davidson Motor Com- pany comes to life on the Dis- covery Channel in "Harley and the Davidsons," a three-part miniseries that begins with the company's origins and goes from there. Broadcast time is 9 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. Central. Episodes one and two have al- ready run (Monday, September 5 and Tuesday, September 6) but you can still watch episode three (if you hurry) on Wednes- day, September 7. This is to encourage you to check your TV listings, crack open a whatever, and watch this historical drama. I'm hoping it will be good enough to add to my collection of motorcycle movies that includes "The World's Fastest Indian," among others.
