ROAD RACE
FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 12 / SEPTEMBER 4, 2016
SILVERSTONE CIRCUIT / NORTHAMPTONSHIRE, ENGLAND
P58
(Pramac Ducati).
Alvaro Bautista (Aprilia) was a lone 10th,
after moving past 11th-placed Yonny Her-
nandez (Aspar Ducati) before half distance.
Three seconds away, Eugene Laverty
(Aspar Ducati) had pushed through impres-
sively from a bad start, with the equally
impressing GP debutant Alex Lowes
(Monster Yamaha) less than a second be-
hind after prevailing over Hector Barbera
(Avintia Ducati). Tito Rabat was a close
15th for the last point, with fading EG-VDS
Honda teammate Jack Miller a distant
16th. The Australian had started strongly in
the top 10, but also had trouble with rear
grip issues.
Scott Redding (Pramac Ducati) was
miles down in last, after twice falling and
remounting in a nightmare home GP.
The loss of three points to Rossi hardly
dented Marquez's points lead, now 210
points to 160. Then Lorenzo (148), and
Vinales (125) consigning Pedrosa to fifth
at 120.
For the third
race in a row, Cal
Crutchlow rode
quite brilliantly.
