JEREMY MARTIN JOINS GEICO HONDA
I
t's been previously reported
here that Jeremy Martin was
going to leave the Yamalube/
Star Racing Yamaha Team, of
which he has been a member
the past few years, and join
the GEICO Honda Team. This
was made official when the GEICO team an-
nounced that it has indeed snatched up the
2014-'15 AMA 250MX Champion.
According to the GEICO Honda Team,
Martin will finish off his 250-racing career in
2017 before moving up to the 450-class full
time in 2018.
Martin will make his GEICO Honda debut
this week at the U.S. GP at Glen Helen.
"I'm very excited to finally announce I've signed
a two-year deal with the GEICO Honda team,"
says Martin. "They're a proven, championship-
winning team and I'm excited to reach a new level
on the 250 next year and continue the relationship
through the 2018 season as a rookie 450 rider."
"Everyone at GEICO Honda is happy to have
Jeremy Martin coming to our team," says GEICO
Honda Team Manager Mike LaRocco. "He has
that burning desire to be great and I look forward
to working with him. He's a great addition to our
team." CN
CIANCIARULO SAYS HE'S "BANGED UP"
J
ust when it seemed that Adam Cianciarulo was
getting back up to speed after a succession of
injuries, the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasa-
ki Team rider crashed at the MXGP of Americas at
Charlotte, and appeared to have suffered another
injury to his shoulder.
It happened just after the first turn of the first
MX2 moto while vying for the lead. He did not
return.
Hopefully, the injury might not be as bad as
it looked. He posted recently on his Instagram
account: "All good guys. Was bummed because I
felt great all day and was looking forward to some
good racing! Unfortunately I hit a little slick spot
and the next thing I knew I was on the ground.
Sucks my day ended too early—but with that said
I'm just banged up and I'll be good to go after a
little rest. Blown away by all the positive comments
and support, you guys are awesome!"
You can see Cianciarulo's crash in this MX2 highlight
video of the MXGP of Americas.
Jeremy Martin
will make his
GEICO Honda
debut at Glen
Helen U.S. GP
this weekend.
