down and kind of jeopardized my
chance of winning the race. Un-
fortunately, that stuff happens.
I got myself up and got around
Austin. This track's gnarly. I was
just trying to survive and get
through it."
There's something about Indi-
ana for Plessinger. He won the
Ironman National in 2015, and
his only 2016 Supercross win
came in Indianapolis.
"Yeah, it's amazing!" Pless-
inger said. "I mean, coming out
here in front of all these fans,
it was crazy the last few laps! I
couldn't even hear my bike, they
were cheering so loud. I got off
to a great start, and I made a
bobble on one of the first laps,
and then Austin [Forkner] got by
me, and then we just charged
and pulled away from everybody
else."
Forkner took the overall with a
1-3. All three Star Racing Yama-
ha teammates—Plessinger (8-1),
Webb (5-2) and Martin (3-4) tied
on points on the day with 38
apiece, which gave Plessinger
second overall in the tiebreaker
in front of Webb, with Martin just
off the podium.
For Forkner, it was his first-
ever overall win, which is the
perfect ending to his rookie
season.
"I feel really good," Forkner
said. "I don't think it's really set
in yet, because I'm still think-
ing about that crash, but it was
a really good race. I got off to
a good start and got around
Aaron, and then washed the
teammate Martin to get onto his
rear wheel. Not long after that,
Forkner crashed out of the lead
as well. It took him a long time to
get up, and once he got going,
Webb was all over his rear tire.
Webb passed Forkner with
five laps to go, but he was over
10 seconds behind teammate
Plessinger at the time and was
forced to settle for second in the
moto.
"I'm stoked on the champion-
ship," Webb said. "I wanted to
win [today], but it's all good.
We're healthy going to the GP,
and going to the Motocross of
Nations healthy, so I'm stoked
on that. It was cool to see AP
[Aaron Plessinger] get a moto
win. We're training partners, so
it's nice to see hard work pay-
ing off. It was a good moto, I
just had a mistake when I went
