VOL. 53 ISSUE 34 AUGUST 30, 2016 P25 MV AGUSTA F4Z BREAKS COVER T he brand-new MV Agusta F4Z has just been unveiled overnight, a week ahead of when it was scheduled. September 4 was the original date the world would get to lay eyes on the re- sult of the collaboration between Italian sports car design house, Zagato and MV, but the inter- net couldn't wait that long, so here it is. The F4Z uses the F4 superbike as its base, with Zagato clearly channeling MV's glorious race past in the design process. The rear has hues of the all-conquering Grand Prix MV Agusta 15-time Giacomo Agostini used to devastating effect in the 1960s, while the front has a slightly more futuristic shape with the single diamond headlight of the standard F4 replaced by a traditional, albeit very small headlight. No doubt this thing will be priced right up there in the dollar department, but we'll know more of those juicy details by next week when the world will see the real bike—not just these CAD images—in the metal in Chantilly, north of Paris, next week. CN Zagato and MV Agusta have combined to make this amazing looking machine. BMW R NINET MODELS TO EXPAND B MW's air/oil-cooled R nineT lineup is set to expand in 2017, with the "Pure" and "Racer" names recently pre- sented to the California EPA for certification. The R nineT model has been a roaring success for BMW, with the 110-horsepower, 1170cc machine selling out across the world since its debut in 2014. And with the release of not just the Scrambler but also the Lac Rose concept machine at the recent Wheels and Waves event in France, BMW is rumored to be building a similar off-road styled machine in the "Pure" that will pay tribute to the firm's early 1980s Paris- Dakar success. The "Racer" is likely to take the similar design lines penned by America's Roland Sands when he released the R90 Concept in 2013, and will be BMW's take on a café/retro racer. CN Like a good racehorse, the R nineT is fathering plenty of offspring!
