F
or most of the 450cc racers on the Iron-
man Raceway track this past weekend
in Crawfordsville, Indiana, the end of the
race day meant the end of a grueling 29-race
season, and an opportunity to take some
much-needed time off before beginning the
process of testing and training for 2017—some
with a new team, some with the same team,
and even others with the same team but a
new motorcycle.
But some racers, such as Cooper Webb,
Alex Martin and Eli Tomac, aren't going to
be getting much in the way of vacation time.
They still have the U.S. MXGPs, and for
some the MXoN, on their plates. Still, there
was plenty on the line at the Ironman MX
National finale, but with the championships
both decided coming into the event, the sto-
rylines were much more subtle than usual.
