OFF ROAD 2016 KENDA AMA TENNESSEE KNOCKOUT AUGUST 21, 2016 TRIALS TRAINING CENTER / SEQUATCHIE, TN P82 "It's been a hard day but one I've really enjoyed," said Webb. "The TKO is a race that really grinds you down. The added rain increased the difficulty but I en- joyed it. I knew I had the speed in the final so it was a matter of not making mistakes and los- ing my rhythm. It's been cool to come away with my fourth win here—this was one of the hard- est yet." A rider many favored to give Webb a run for his money, Young, looked strong and com- fortable during his debut ride Webb did exactly that, punch- ing in the fastest lap in the morn- ing Hot Lap and setting the tone for the rest of the event. Heavy rain showers rolled through the valley throughout the day, but Webb quickly got to grips with the incredibly slippery terrain and showcased the incredible skills that put him on the Erz- berg Extreme Enduro podium a couple of months ago. Winning both his Knockout heats with ease, Webb took the holeshot for the final race and was never headed. Despite a brief attack from Young, he maintained his composure and rode near flawlessly to secure the overall win. The fastest 25 riders then qualify to race the second Knockout Race that sees ad- ditional difficult sections. Finally the top 15 riders square up for the final winner-take-all battle in a shortened version of the course, which makes for some intense racing. Coming into the event with determination, Webb was keen to keep his winning streak alive at the TKO. But with some fierce competition from Young, Redmond, the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna duo of Colton Haaker and former two-time TKO winner Mike Brown, along with many others, he knew he needed to attack from the start.
