Dovi had dropped behind Redding, but was
biding his time until he suddenly slowed on lap
10 and cruised to the pits, his front tire disinte-
grating, and another non-finish for the luckless
lead Ducati rider.
By now, however, the hard tires were up to
temperature and coming firmly on song.
Crutchlow had been gaining places by
leaps and bounds, Rossi also speeding up.
Crutchlow had passed him on lap seven,
and left him a couple of places behind as he
