ROAD RACE FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 10 / AUGUST 14, 2016 RED BULL RING / SPIELBERG, AUSTRIA P56 after a jump start, along with both Aprilia riders Bautista and Bradl, Hernandez and Hector Barbera. The last-named failed to heed the instruction and was disqualified, spoiling his own perfect points record. The effect on the champion- ship was minimal. Marquez leads by a reduced 43 points, 181 to Lorenzo's 138; then Rossi (124), Pedrosa (105) and Vinales (93), now in danger from Iannone (88). (Monster Yamaha) managed to get away from Danilo Petrucci (Pramac Ducati) and Ducati wildcard Michele Pirro. The still- injured Loris Baz (Avintia Ducati) was four seconds down in a lone 13th, after Tito Rabat (EG-VDS Honda) had dropped away with sliding tires. A long way back, Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) took the last point. He was one of five riders called in for a ride-through until the Suzuki rider retired, in too much pain from a broken fin- ger from the previous day. Finally Laverty crashed on the last lap, spoiling a perfect points-scoring run from the start of the season. Redding managed to stay four-tenths ahead of Smith. Some way back Pol Espargaro Laverty (50) spoiled a perfect point- scoring season to date by crashing at the final corner of the race.
