In all, 37 riders were crowned AMA Amateur National Moto- cross Champions over the 102 motos that were held. CN the first moto. In the two Supermini classes, Seth Hammaker (Kawasaki) took the title in SM 1 (12-15) and Joe Shimoda (KTM) in SM 2 (13- 16). Hammaker and Shimoda swapped 1-2 positions in both shoulder, ran Bostard wide in a turn, putting Bostard to the ground and back into 21st place. While Wagner led, Bostard put in an outstanding charge through the pack. By the sec- ond-to-last lap, he had caught both Wagner and second- place Barry McCarty (KTM) and passed them both in quick order. A tiring Wagner also gave way to McCarty, making the final finishing order Bostard, McCarty and Wagner. After the race, Wagner and Bostard shook hands.
