VOL. 53 ISSUE 31 AUGUST 9, 2016 P55
CHAMPIONSHIP, PRESENTED BY AMSOIL
KTM rider Sean Cantrell—who
rode a KTM 350 SX-F—in the fi-
nal moto. Sexton nearly crashed
while chasing Cantrell for the win
in that third moto, but backed
it down, not wanting to risk the
championship. Sexton also set
the quickest lap time of the week
with a 1:52.716.
For Cantrell, Loretta's was
a bit of a disappointment. The
Californian's moto results were
all over the board. He did take
second overall in Open Pro
Sport (8-2-1) and seventh in 250
A (2-7-15), but he had higher
expectations.
Husky's Michael Mosiman
took third overall in Open Pro
Sport, while Iowa's Cameron
McAdoo, who was riding with
an injured shoulder, took fourth.
Georgia's Egan Mastin rounded
out the top five overall.
Sexton also took runner-up
honors in 250 A, finishing sec-
ond to a very fast Bradley Taft
on the Horton Racing Yamaha
YZ250F.
Taft went 1-2-1 and, like
Sexton, the rider from Missouri
will also make his pro debut at
Unadilla but on a CycleTrader.
com/Rock River Yamaha.
Minnesota's Jerry Robin used
consistency to win the inaugural
250 All-Star A/B (14+) division.
A 2-3-3 on his SOBMX Yamaha
was the key to his success.
Jordan Jarvis (Yamaha) and
Jazzmyn Canfield (Yamaha) bat-
tled back and forth all week long
for the Women (14+) Amateur
title. They went into the deciding
(12-14) class with 1-5-3.
AMSOIL Honda/Factory
Connection Chase Sexton of La
Moille, Illinois will begin his pro
career next week at Unadilla as
a member of the GEICO Honda
Team and will do so with a lot of
confidence after leaving Loretta
Lynn's with a big overall victory in
the Open Pro Sport class, where
he rode a 250F to victory with
1-1-2 moto scores. His only blem-
ish came at the hands of TLD/
shined in the mud (and dry) and
earned Amateur National Cham-
pionship titles in the 85cc (9-11)
Limited and 85cc (9-12) classes.
He took two moto wins, three
seconds and a third over the
week. In his young career, he
has already amassed a record
eight minicycle titles at Loretta's.
The Masterpools pulled off a
double of sorts. Brothers Ty and
Jake each took home a title to
Texas. Ty got his in the Mini Sr. 2
