The exact shape and size of
the grid for WorldSBK in 2017 is
yet to be completely cemented in
place, but even as the long sum-
mer break is still way less than
halfway completed, the off-track
action has been intense already.

GUY MARTIN GOING FOR THE RECORD
G
uy Martin is aiming to
become the fastest man in
history on two wheels this month
at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The
iconic Isle of Man TT racer will
be trying to break the current
world record of 376 mph in a
25-foot long, custom stream-
liner machine powered by two
turbo-charged Triumph Rocket
III engines that pump out over
1000 horsepower.
"I can't wait to take the Tri-
umph Infor Rocket Streamliner
onto the salt at Bonneville for
the first time this summer. The
Triumph engineers have built
an amazing machine, giving us
the very best chance to beat
the two-wheeled land speed
record."
The record attempt is a year
late following Martin's massive
crash at the 2015 Ulster Grand
Prix, one that sidelined him
with serious back injuries and
rendered him unfit to take to the
salt. CN
Stefan Bradl will be jumping
ship from MotoGP to
WorldSBK with Honda.
