In the MX2 class, it was very
much a case of déjà vu, with
Jeffrey Herlings, once again,
absent through injury. While the
extent of his collarbone problem
is still unknown, he could pos-
sibly be missing the next couple
of MXGPs. Although the gap at
the top after the MXGP of the
Czech Republic is 127 points, it
definitely isn't the way he hoped
this season would pan out.
In fact this was the first overall
without Herlings on the top step
in 2016 and although he has that
big buffer, missing two rounds
would still be okay, but were this
complication with his collarbone
to rule him out of Assen as well,
then there is a very real possibil-
ity that a third MX2 crown will
be ripped from his hands after
commanding the majority of the
year. It happened in 2014 when
Jordi Tixier was the beneficiary
