Colorado is located more than
5000 feet above sea level which
makes it one of the most difficult
tracks to master for racers in the

able to master the art of high altitude
racing better than Screamin' Eagle

the fourth time in his career, Hines
emerged as the champion from the
Mile-High Nationals when he defeat-

on right now and I'm taking it as it
comes. This [Pro Stock Motorcycle]
class is so brutal; it can turn in the
opposite direction the next day.

preparation," said Hines. "We decid-
ed a couple of months ago to bring
Denver-specific engines up here. We
dabbled with some of those changes
earlier in the year and they didn't work
for us but obviously the two engines
we brought up here stayed in the bike
all eight runs all weekend long. We
