DUCATI DOMINATES SPIELBERG TEST
A
fter two days of action at the
Red Bull Ring in Spielberg,
Austria last week for a private
MotoGP test that saw most
teams and riders in attendance—
bar Repsol Honda's Marc Mar-
quez and Dani Pedrosa, Tech3
Yamaha and Aprilia Racing's
Stefan Bradl—Ducati emerged
utterly dominant with six of the
top 10 places filled by the Bolo-
gna company's riders.
Andrea Iannone was the
pacesetter ahead of teammate
Andrea Dovizioso with test
rider and former two-time World
Champion Casey Stoner once
again proving he's lost none of
his speed and style by slotting
into third place, despite a crash
on a soft tire that left him unhurt.
Hector Barbera showed his
single lap speed once more
by taking fourth ahead of the
Movistar Yamahas of Valentino
Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo with
the Suzukis of Maverick Vina-
les, Aleix Espargaro and Ducati
riders Scott Redding and Yonny
Hernandez rounding out the top
10.
The first Austrian MotoGP
since 1997 will be held at the
Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Aus-
tria, on August 14. CN
