IN THE WIND P28 TOMAC FOR MXoN? H ere in the U.S. there hasn't been a whole lot of talk about this year's Motocross of Nations, more specifically those who might represent the U.S. at Maggiora, Italy, come Sep- tember 25-25. Evidently, it's still very much in the air. During the press conference following the Washougal Na- tional MX, July 23, Eli Tomac and Ken Roczen were both asked if they were going to be racing this year's race. Roczen said no, pretty emphatically. But Tomac? He said he hasn't had anyone contact him about it, but if he was asked: "I think so. It's not something that every- one is totally looking forward to just because of how packed our schedule's getting for how many races we're racing now, and even the Monster Cup event after that, and we're doing two GPs before that, so our race schedule is getting pretty wild. But, hey, if it's for the country, we'll go over there and fight and do what we can." Ryan Dungey already said he's not going, leaving many to speculate who our top pros- pects might be: There is Tomac, one of if not both of the Martin brothers (Jeremy and Alex, keeping in mind that Jeremy has MXdN experience), and Cooper Webb, who could ride a 450, which he has done already with good success. Other possibili- ties include Justin Barcia and Jason Anderson. CN Will he stay or will he go? Sounds like Eli Tomac is in for the MXoN if asked. BROC TICKLE OUT FOR REST OF MX SEASON T he Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John's/Suzuki Factory Team says that Broc Tickle will sit out the remainder of the 2016 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Moto- cross Championship due to a fractured pelvis that he suffered last weekend at Millville. The injury occurred when he and Weston Peick got together in the first moto at Millville. "It was an unfortunate racing incident between me and Weston Peick," Tickle explained of the crash. "Obviously, it's a bummer but all I can do is keep weight off my pelvis for the next four to six weeks and get better as soon as I can. At this point, I just have to look ahead, work hard over the off-season and be ready for Supercross in January. I'm going to try and capitalize on the downtime now to get stuff cleared out for 2017. I'm really grateful to Carey [Hart] and Ricky [Carmichael] and everyone at RCH for a great season. It didn't turn out like we were hoping but we turned the corner and there were a lot of positives. "I feel bad for Broc because he's really had a great outdoor season," said team co-owner Ricky Car- michael. "I hate to see this stuff happen. This particular incident is really a bummer because it wasn't his fault. He was just a victim of circumstance and in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's one of those tough pills to swallow that sometimes comes with the job. He'll be back on the bike when he feels 100 percent and ready to go." CN RCH Suzuki rider Broc Tickle will sit out the remainder of the 2016 AMA Pro Motocross season with a broken pelvis.
