into second in the EnduroGP
standings, edging out Eero
Remes. Despite Phillips' disap-
pointing end to the weekend, he
still maintains a sizeable lead in
the EnduroGP championship,
15 points ahead of Holcombe.
Barring any disaster at the GP
of France in September, Phillips
will be crowned the 2016 Endu-
roGP world champion.
Remes piloted his TM to sec-
ond in the EnduroGP class on
day two, following his fifth-place
finish on day one, both times
comfortably topping the E1 divi-
sion, which he leads with only
one round remaining. Yamaha's
Loic Larrieu finished third on
day two, marking his third overall
EnduroGP podium, and second
E2-class win of the season.
Giacomo Redondi and the
RedMoto Honda team had
plenty to celebrate on Saturday
as a win for Redondi saw him
earn the Enduro Junior World
Championship crown. "To finally
win the Enduro Junior title after
finishing as runner-up on so
many occasions, it just feels
great," Redondi said. "The team
have been great, to be able to
win here in front of my fans and
at my home race is amazing."
Jack Edmonson was another
young rider with a big smile
on his face, having topped the
Enduro Youth class to claim the
championship.
American rider Taylor Robert
had another fairly consistent
weekend with another eighth-
place finish on day one followed
by a less-than-stellar 12th-place
on day two. Robert sits eighth
in the EnduroGP championship
with one round remaining. CN
