STIFFER PENALTY FOR
ENDANGERING MOTORCYCLISTS
I
n New York, the state senate passed increased
penalties for motorists who endanger motorcy-
clists and pedestrians through reckless or careless
driving. S.6748-A, sponsored by Senator Rich
Funke (R-Fairport), is called Credo-Kade's Law
after two motorcyclists were killed while riding.
The bill would ensure a misdemeanor charge
against any driver who causes serious injury or
death to another person when the driver disobeys
a traffic law. The penalties include 30 days in jail
and/or a minimum $300 fine. Under current state
law, there is no penalty for causing injury or death
unless the motorist is driving while drunk or under
a suspended license. CN
RYAN DUNGEY BARES ALL
Y
ou may not have seen much
of Ryan Dungey in a while
on account of his injury-related
absence from the Pro Motocross
Championship, but you might
now see more of him than you
ever expected to. Ryan Dungey
recently starred in the 2016 ESPN
Magazine Body Issue. Dungey is
one of 19 athletes chosen to bare
all for the camera in the maga-
zine's annual pictorial.
"I would have to say this was a
little bit out of my comfort zone,
but a great opportunity," Dungey
commented via social media. "I'm
very excited and honored to be
in this year's ESPN Body Issue
2016."
This issue marks the third
time a motocross athlete has
been featured in the ESPN
Body Issue, which showcases
athletes in revealing, yet tasteful
portraits. WMX Pro racer Tarah
Gieger was featured in the 2013
issue, and action sports icon
Travis Pastrana was featured in
the 2014 issue alongside his wife
Lyn-Z.
Dungey has also been nomi-
nated for an ESPY award for this
year's Best Male Action Sports
Athlete.
