The U.S. Bureau of Land Man- agement is conducting an assess- ment of the application to route part of the 640-mile race through the Basin and Range National Monument. The event, organized by the Best in the Desert Rac- ing Association, is scheduled for August 19-20. The complaint to the White House came from the Washington-based Public Employ- ees for Environmental Ethics.
