MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 4 / JUNE 18, 2016 HIGH POINT RACEWAY / MT. MORRIS, PENNSYLVANIA P70 37 JOEY SAVATGY 250MX 1 ST O/A (4-1) "There are a lot of guys out there that can win and go fast," said 250MX winner Joey Savatgy of the first moto, "so you're not doing yourself any favors if you don't put yourself in a good position. So, at the end of the day, it's your fault for not executing and not getting of the gate. It [a bad start in moto one] was a dumb mistake on my part. It was a little frustrating but salvaging fourth was good. I didn't ride well, my line selections weren't great, but I knew I had the speed and felt fast all day. Moto two I regrouped and got a good start. I battled with my teammate [Adam Cianciarulo] a bit which was cool and from there just tried to minimize the mistakes. I looked back and saw 26 [Alex Martin] and thought, 'Here we go!' Seems like we're always battling at the end of the moto; between the two Martin brothers, their fitness is no joke. We ran all the way down to the wire and definitely wasn't a walk in the park. We put it on the line." 17 COOPER WEBB 250MX 3 RD O/A (3-5) Cooper Webb finished out the day on the podium but he wasn't happy. He wanted the win. "I rode like shit all day," Webb said. "It's nice to be up there, but these guys are hauling. I have to keep grinding. Everybody [on the Star team] are getting good starts except me." After see- ing two of his teammates' bikes expire, Webb said that he wasn't worried about his bike suffering the same fate. "No, I was confident of my bike holding up. I feel how I ride it isn't too hard on it." Webb said that his injured wrist isn't bothering him anymore. "It was at the beginning of the season but not anymore. It [not winning] is just me." 44 ADAM CIANCIARULO 250MX 10 TH O/A (10-11) Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Ka- wasaki's Adam Cianciarulo took a big step in the right direction after leading the first four laps of the second 250MX moto. He actually passed Jeremy Martin through the first few turns and showed he had the speed to lead the pack, even if it was for only a few laps. He then gradually slipped back to fin- ish 11th, which was actually a position worse than his first moto, but leading was a big positive for the young rider. "Each weekend we're improving," he said. "I unfortu- nately hit the gate in the first moto which made things a little more difficult but made up for it in the second moto by pulling the holeshot, which was a nice confidence- booster. I believe I rode a smart race this weekend." 16 ZACH OSBORNE 250MX 2 ND O/A (1-4) Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Zach Osborne came within one spot of taking the overall in the 250MX class. He passed his way into the lead in the first moto for his first career moto win, but a fifth-place start and some bobbles in moto two hurt his chances for the overall. He took fourth in the second moto but a third (which would've meant passing Aaron Plessinger) would've given him the overall. "Today was a step in the right direction," said Osborne. "It was an awe- some day. I was fastest in practice, got off to a really good start in the first moto, and ended up winning. I got off to a good start in the second moto but then made some mis- takes right off the bat. It took me a bit in the second moto to get going – maybe I was a little nervous – and I let some guys get by me early. That ultimately made the difference in the overall [results] and I just came up a couple seconds short [of another pass] for the win. It's awesome to get the monkey off my back and win a moto and just be moving in the right direction. I'm really happy." 377 CHRISTOPHE POURCEL 450MX 6 TH O/A (4-9) Christophe Pourcel had his best day so far in the outdoors. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider scored a season-best moto finish with a fourth in the first outing, and a second-moto ninth gave him sixth overall, his best overall finish so far. "I was second-fastest in qualifying so that showed I had some speed," said Pourcel. "I was battling with Jason [Anderson] for awhile [in the first moto], and felt good all day. I'm excited for next weekend at Muddy Creek." Pour- cel is currently 10th in the championship standings. 19 JUSTIN BOGLE 450MX 7 TH O/A (6-7) GEICO Honda's Justin Bogle wasn't far off the lead pace in both 450MX motos. A 6-7 for seventh overall was his best 450MX finish of his young career in the class. "Getting better every weekend," said Bogle, who has been fighting back from injuries for part of the season. "This weekend was another good step in the right direction... Obviously best race of the year. I was finally able to ride during the week for the first time this outdoor season. I think you're supposed to do that? So that was good. Track was gnarly, but we're getting things worked out. Felt good, bike is good."
