easier without the presence of
defending champ Ryan Dungey,
who revealed last week that his
season is already over, having
sustained a back injury at the
previous round in Colorado.
In the 250MX class, the
race was highlighted by Zach
Osborne's first career moto
win, not one but two Star Rac-
ing Yamahas that gave up the
ghost, and another impressive
performance by overall winner
Joey Savatgy.

A
t this point in his career,
RCH Suzuki's Ken Roc-
zen is known for starting
fast in championships. In his
young 450cc career, he's won
the season-opening Anaheim
1 Supercross two out of three
years, and outdoors, even when
he was struggling at the end
of previous supercross series,
he has managed to come out
swinging at the MX season
opener every year but oneālast
year, when he was nursing a
back injury at Hangtown.
But Roczen has often had
trouble "closing the deal" so to
speak. He has gotten injured in
the past, or simply gotten lost
with his motorcycle's setup. But
this year, although the champi-
onship is far from over, it seems
as if he has caused his competi-
tion to flinch first.
At the Red Bull High Point Na-
tional, Roczen again dominated,
winning both motos with seem-
ing ease. And it was made even
Justin Barcia (51)
holeshot the second
moto but couldn't
keep Ken Roczen
(94) from taking
another win in the
450MX class.
