In what proved to be a first for
this year's season of KTM RC
Cup racing, AXcess Racing's
Brandon Paasch managed to
break clear of the chasing pack
to win race one by the massive
(for KTM RC Cup standards)
margin of 4.388 seconds. Rid-
ing with maturity beyond his
years, Paasch's win came over
Jody Barry and last round's race
two winner Ashton Yates with
Anthony Mazziotto III in fourth.
"I thought it was possible (to
pull away), but I thought it would
be me and Mazz (Mazziotto) and
we were just going to pull away,"
Paasch said. "But something
happened when I took the lead
and I was able to get a gap and I
just tried to keep it consistent at
low 42s and just keep opening
it up."
It was all systems normal for
race two as the kids scrapped
like wild dogs to the finish line,
with Mazziotto taking the win
over Ashton Yates and Paasch in
third. The top four were separat-
ed by just 0.391 of a second just
a day after Paasch had scored
a runaway four-plus second win
on Saturday. It was Mazziotto's
fourth victory of the season in
the spec-bike class.
In the points, Paasch leads
on 205 from Mazziotto with 195,
Yates on 140, Jody Barry with
137 and Alejandro Gutierrez fifth
on 105.
