CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "Come on Honda, give us a hint of what's under the Christmas tree!" Glen Helen National MX Kenny Roczen is looking really good so far. He is riding within his ability, realizing he does not need to win by huge margins. I think he is the favorite, as long as he can keep his emotions in check. I'll have to add to that reliability of his bike/team. Kenny has matured. Ryan Dungey is doing ex- actly what he did last year—rid- ing his own race and looking for results to come to him. Last year, Eli Tomac did him a favor by crashing out of the season. Kenny is riding smarter than that, so Ryan's plan just might not work. Eli is looking better each race. I think, by the end of the season, we may have three to four riders going for national wins (Jason Anderson?). Jim Bunch Roczen is the new Tomac. An- derson looked great also and was on the attack both motos. Very fun day at the "Glen." Kevin Burner Pretty cool day for SoCal stan- dards. Congratulations to Alex Martin on his long-overdue vic- tory. And Austin Forkner, wow! He held up very well under the pressure on the most exotic track and [against the] best 250 riders in the world. He reminded me of the first time I saw Ryan Villopoto at Glen Helen. I knew then that I was watching someone that could be exceptional. Same goes for Austin. Still if I were selling Yamaha 250s, I'd plan on working overtime. There's something in that Blue Blood. Gregory Eddinger Donington WorldSBK Tremendous race by Tom Sykes—Jonathan Rea was on him the whole time and Tom did not blink. Well deserved, just a shame he (and Chaz Davies for that matter) are not making this championship a little tighter. WSBK history should remind us that anything is possible (Colin Edwards catching Troy Bayliss when he was down a massive amount of points in 2002 is still, to quote Stallone's Rocky, "unbelievable"), but I'm not convinced yet that Sykes has all the kinks worked out of his Kawi (tire management- wise) going forward, and that seems to never be an issue for "The Rea Man." I think Nicky did everything expected of him with the Honda on this track. All right, all right, he shouldn't have let Leon Camier pass him again on last lap of the second race— dammit! Donington seems like there is a lot of flow, but maybe enough low-speed stuff that Nicky pretty much had to say "buh-bye" to the Kawi's and Ducks. So frustrating to see him 15 seconds or more behind leaders on the Jurassic-period CBR. Come on Honda, give us a hint of what's under the Christmas tree!
