success, so to see him having
so much success this year is
just awesome. I know he had a
rough supercross season. I saw
him coming and I'm like, 'Dang,
Big Al, slow down!'"
Alex Martin leads the points
over Webb, Savatgy and Jeremy
Martin. It's still a tight gap of only
four points between first and
fourth place.

With three laps to go, Alex
Martin got to the inside of Nel-
son and forced Nelson off the
track in a tight right-hand turn
just before the finish line to take
second away, and with it, he
clinched his first ever overall vic-
tory and first-ever championship
points lead.
"I'm really proud of my
brother," Jeremy Martin said.
"He's watched me have a lot of
laps. My first moto win of the
year, that'll heal the wrist injury."
Alex Martin said nerves got
the better of him in moto one.
"I think the biggest thing is

Nelson, Forkner and the rest of
the field gave chase. Alex Martin
sat about sixth just in front of
Webb in seventh and round-one
winner Savatgy in eighth.
A few laps in, Forkner found
his way by Nelson for second as
Jeremy Martin led, but a midrace
fall relegated Forkner back to
sixth (although he eventually
finished fifth), handing second
back to Nelson. But Nelson was
already under attack from Alex
Martin, who had Webb not far
behind.
It was an all-
Yamalube/Star

podium in the
250MX class, with
Alex and Jeremy
Martin, and
Cooper Webb.
