who is in his eighth year as a
professional motocross racer
and in his first year as a full-
fledged factory racer, has, for
the past four years, taken a back
seat to his little brother, Jeremy.
Unlike Alex, Jeremy Martin came
into the pros a much hotter com-
modity and won his first 250cc
National MX Championship in his
second full pro season in 2014
(followed by a championship
defense in 2015). Alex, on the
other hand, has never finished
in the top five in an outdoor MX
title chase. This year, though,
Alex has officially caught fire.
After finishing second overall at
the season opener last week
at Hangtown, many—including
Alex—wondered if he could back
it up at round two. He did.
A very strong 2-2 showing not
only landed Alex Martin the first
outdoor national overall win of
his career, it gave him his first
ever points lead.
