BISCEGLIA LOOKING
FOR NEW TEAM
M
AD Racing Dirt Candy
Suzuki and Matt Bisceglia
have parted ways, according
to a release issued by the team
Friday, May 27, one day before
the Glen Helen National MX. No
specific reason was given for the
break-up but it's no secret that
Bisceglia, the 2013 AMA Horizon
Award recipient, did not have a
standout season in the 250SX
East class in supercross this
year. He finished on the podium
once but did not crack the top
10 in the other six races that he
competed in. He did finish out
the championship 10th overall.
However, rumors have been cir-
culating in the pits that the team
may be running short on funds,
and it's possible that parting with
Bisceglia has as much to do with
that as anything else.
Bisceglia started his pro ca-
reer on the GEICO Honda team
before switching over to the
MAD Suzuki team at the end of
2015. He signed a two-year deal
with the Suzuki team.
A portion of the release
read: It's been a rough road
for MAD Racing and Bisceglia,
with the 2016 season nearly
being derailed all together due
to several unexpected injuries.
However, the MAD Racing crew
stuck together and still gut-
ted out a top ten overall in the
250SX East region. Although
MAD Racing is disappointed
the relationship with Bisceglia
did not work out as planned,
they are eager to see what the
remainder of the 2016 season
holds for stablemate Luke Clout
and wish Bisceglia the best of
luck in future endeavors. "We
thank Matt for the time that he
spent on the team and we wish
him good luck."
Bisceglia did not compete at
Hangtown. CN
Matt Bisceglia is seeking a new ride
after cutting his ties with the MAD
Racing Suzuki Team.
VILLOPOTO TO RACE AGAIN
F
our-time AMA Supercross Champion Ryan Villopoto says he's coming out of retirement, even if it is
just for one race.
Villopoto has set his sights on the 2016 AUS-X Open, November 12-13, in Sydney, Australia. This will
be his first race since April 2015 when he was competing in the MXGP Series and got injured.
One of the riders that he will be competing against is Chad Reed, who has confirmed his entry for
the second year in a row. Cooper Webb won the event last year and will return for this year's race. CN
