MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 1 / MAY 21, 2016 PRAIRIE CITY SVRA / RANCHO CORDOVA, CALIFORNIA P74 My Own Race: 19 JUSTIN BOGLE 450MX 12 TH O/A (12-11) Hangtown has never really been to good to GEICO Honda's Justin Bogle and it wasn't good to him again this time. "I started off the day not so good, had a pretty hard crash in practice. Man!" said Bogle. "I came back and got ready, got a great start in the first moto and ran up front for a couple of laps. I started having some issues. I bumped my head in practice and I was having some trouble with that, things were getting a little blurry and stuff. I salvaged a 12th. The second moto was kind of the same situation, got a good start and salvaged an 11th. But still a decent day because I was able to get out of Hang- town somewhat healthy—at least I'm able to race next weekend. This actually hasn't happened for me out of Hangtown ever—I've never scored points here in both motos. So all in all, I'll take it." 16 ZACH OSBORNE 250MX 11 TH O/A (20-4) One of the most disappointed riders at the end of the day was Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Zach Osborne, who was one of the riders that was expecting to be dicing for the overall victory, but things didn't go well for him. "The first moto was a huge disappoint- ment," said Osborne. "I pulled in for goggles and just generally didn't do very well. It was a tough first moto for me. In the second moto I got off to about a 12th-place start and came up to fourth and was only three seconds from the win. I got the fastest lap of the race so that's definitely something I can take some momentum from and build on and come back stronger next weekend." 38 CHRISTIAN CRAIG 250MX 12 TH O/A (15-8) GEICO Honda's Christian Craig didn't get the starts he wanted and spent most of his day battling in the pack. "I started off the day ninth in qualifying," Craig said. "I want to be up there so that wasn't my best, for sure. I went into the motos confident, but I fell in the third corner of the first moto. Started dead last and worked my way up to 15th. The second moto I started midpack and just tried to go forward. I got to seventh and went down. I had to just ride it out and I got eighth—not my best—I'm looking for a lot more. Next weekend I need to get a better result and I'm confident I can get it." 41 TREY CANARD 450MX 5 TH O/A (7-5) HRC Honda's Trey Canard missed out on getting the holeshot by inch- es to his teammate Cole Seely, but after Roczen got them both, Canard got around Seely for second, only to fall a little later and drop out of the top 10. Both he and Seely got bad starts in the second moto. "I feel good, and I think there were a lot of positives to take away from today," said Canard. "We still have some work to do, but overall I'm happy and think the team did a great job. Despite some mistakes here and there, I felt like I was riding really well. I got a good start in the first moto, which is a big confidence builder for me since I've been struggling there. I just need to keep working on that, continue dialing in the bike and try not to get frustrated with the small things. I'm looking forward to getting back out there next weekend."
