W
hen it comes to KTM
and its 2017 lineup, it's
all about the two-strokes.
The 2017 250 SX two-stroke
motocrosser, which was ignored
last year (2016), got a complete
makeover this year (2017). It
has a brand-new motor, chassis
and suspension, including WP
AER 48 air forks, which most of
the 2017 models got. All of the
changes that the new 250 SX
received were carried over to the
250 XC and XC-W, and 300 XC
and XC-W off-road two-strokes,
as well.
Some of the more notable
changes to the 250 and 300
two-stroke engines include a
new 38mm Mikuni TX carbure-
tor (formerly a Keihin), a DDS
clutch, a reworked lateral coun-
ter balancer to reduce engine
vibes, updated transmission and
a new exhaust pipe. The bikes
also got new frames, and front
and rear suspension.
All of the 2017 four-stroke SX-F
models get traction control and air forks.
