IN THE WIND P26 BOBBITT BLASTS AT CHEROKEE NATIONAL ENDURO R ussell Bobbitt finally got the race he has been wanting all season. After finishing in the runner-up spot at the first three rounds, the FMF KTM- backed rider took a convincing win at round four of the Kenda AMA National Enduro Series, the Cherokee National Enduro in Greensboro, Georgia, May 22. In what racers agreed was a tough "old-school" national enduro, the Cherokee put riders through tight Georgia terrain and fresh trail, an ideal site for Bob- bitt's first win of the season. "This is one of my favorite races for sure, and this was one of the best days I have ever had. I knew I was going to win today and I just made it happen," said Bobbitt. The KTM rider dominated a tough pro class. He battled a hard-charging Steward Baylor Jr., pumped from his win at round three in Louisiana. Bobbitt won four of the six tests and finished second in the remaining two to take the victory. "This race went flawless for me," said Bobbitt. "I got second in the first test; it was real dark in the woods and kinda hard to see. I won the next two tests. Test four was one of my favor- ites—fast with lots of jumps. I won it and test five. In the final test I just tried to keep my lead and ride conservative." In the runner-up position was SRT KTM-backed Stew Baylor, who wasn't going to make things easy for Bobbitt. He stayed in the hunt early on but really came on strong in the last test with a win.
