ADAM CIANCIARULO SET FOR
RACING RETURN
A
fter having sat out the entire 2016
AMA Supercross Championship,
Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki
has announced that Adam Cianciaru-
lo will return to racing at the opening
round of the Lucas Oil Pro Moto-
cross Championship next weekend,
May 21. The young Kawasaki factory
racer was touted as a top contender
for the 250SX East championship,
until he broke the navicular bone
in his wrist only weeks before the
opening round. Cianciarulo missed
the entire Supercross season, but
is reportedly ready to take on the
outdoors.
"I've been back on the bike for the last few
weeks preparing for the opening round of the
Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship," Cian-
ciarulo said. "Everything with my wrist is solid
now and I feel good heading into the outdoors.
I haven't had as much time back on the bike as I
would like, but we've made a lot of progress with
testing in a very short period of time."
Since turning pro, the amateur sensation has
spent more time on the injured list than he has on
the track, but Cianciarulo feels his speed is still
there and that he is ready to win.
"Over the last few years it seems I get injured at
the worst times," Cianciarulo admitted. "It's been
almost a year since I've raced and I can't wait
to be back out there. I'm excited to head up to
Hangtown for the first race. The chase for the top
is what keeps me going. I still believe in my ability
and that I am fast; I haven't lost that aspect. It's
just about me being patient and getting through
the season healthy." CN
