But then I got passed right at the
line. 'Oh no!' Today was not my
time to win but I am sure it will
come soon."
For Gerloff, the race was
closer than he would have liked,
but a win is a win and the 25
championship points will come
in very handy at season's end.
"I knew there were three
places where they could try [to
been here in conditions just like
this and I knew what was going
to happen as long as the rain
stayed away."
The tire chaos of race one
was replaced by bar-to-bar
chaos in race two, as Gerloff
netted a crucial win by the barest
of margins from Debise's Suzuki
and Beach with Petersen and
Solis's Honda only a couple of
seconds back.
"All the race I was planning
for the last lap," Debise said.
"I knew exactly where I wanted
to do it and I pulled it off. It was
a bit tight and when I started
turning into the corner, I almost
lost the front. But I did the last
two corners as fast I could. All
the way until the end I thought
I had it –'I do it! I do it! I do it!'
