The 65 SX weighs in at
just 115.1 pounds.
T
he big news when it comes to
KTM's 2017 lineup of small-bore
SX's is that some of them get
air forks. Returning are the 50 SX, 50
SX Mini, 65 SX and 85 SX
For 2017, the KTM 50 SX and 65
SX are fitted with fully adjustable air
sprung forks—WP Suspension's AER
35 air forks to be exact. These upside
down forks feature 35mm-diameter
tubes, offer 8.07 inches of wheel
travel and are 1.7 pounds lighter than
the previous spring forks. The AER
forks are unique in that they house air
(which acts like a spring) in one leg
and all of the damping components in
the other leg.
The 50 SX's rear shock settings
have been tweaked to coincide with
the new fork, and it also gets a new
exhaust pipe and graphics, as do all
of the bikes. The 50 SX weighs 90
pounds (without fuel) and the 65 SX
115.1 pounds (without fuel). CN
