MASSIMO'S LAST STAND
T
he late, legendary motorcycle
designer Massimo Tamburini
gave us many bikes in his stel-
lar career—think Bimota DB1 and
Ducati 916—but he may have
saved his finest creation (certainly
his most expensive one!) until two
years after his death.
The Tamburini T12, sounding
something like an Italian termina-
tor, broke cover recently. Powered
by a modified BMW S 1000 RR
superbike powerplant bolted to
a steel trellis frame with MotoGP-
spec Ohlins front and rear sus-
pension, and wrapped in glorious
carbon fiber bodywork, the T12
tips the scales at a mere 330
pounds dry. It also tips a stagger-
ing $341,597 out of your wallet to
stick one in your garage or lounge
room or museum, for that matter.
Naturally, these very, very spe-
cial machines are made to order
so if you're fairly impartial to a
motorcycle the price of which you
could buy a house or two with,
head over to the Massimo Tam-
burini Official Profile Facebook
page. CN
FERRANDIS TO JOIN STAR RACING YAMAHA
S
wiss motocrosser Dylan Ferrandis confirmed rumors at the German MXGP at Teutschenthal over
the May 7-8 weekend that the young GP star will indeed be heading to the U.S. next year as a new
member of the Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha Team. It has been said that he signed a two-year deal
that will see him competing in the AMA Supercross series and outdoor nationals.
With two of its current team members Cooper Webb and Jeremy Martin expecting to move up to the
450 class next year, the team feels that Ferrandis is the guy to fill at least one of their boots. Ferrandis
currently rides for Team Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 and is third in the MX2 Championship behind
leader Jeffrey Herlings and Jeremy Seewer. CN
