IN THE WIND P24 MASSACHUSETTS GETS NEW MX TRACK A 150-acre motocross park in Charlton, Massachusetts was approved by the Charlton Planning Board after nearly eight months of public hearings and review. The park, being developed by Russell G. Jennings, Brant Jennings and Brent Sellew, calls for a 90-space campground and ample parking for the facility. Among the conditions for approval are an operating season of April 1 through October 31 and track hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends only. The next step for the plan is con- sideration by the Conservation Commission in August. CN MCGRATH NAMED JUNIORMOTOX AMBASSADOR M onster Energy Kawasaki Team Green's Jeremy McGrath, seven-time AMA Supercross Cham- pion and AMA Motocross Champion, will serve as the inaugural Lucas Oil JuniorMotoX ambassador. The Kawasaki brand ambassador will be on hand at the event, May 12-14 in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to host a Q&A session open to all JuniorMotoX par- ticipants at the track Thursday after practice. McGrath will also provide commentary for the Lucas Oil broad- cast team throughout the event. "Jeremy is very involved with the Monster Energy Team Green program and we are very excited about the event," said Ryan Holliday, Team Green supervisor. "So we asked the JuniorMotoX team how Jeremy could be integrated into the event to help provide valuable insight that can help all of the racers, regardless of what brand they ride. The Q&A session will be a really great opportunity for everybody." Kawasaki has so far confirmed that Team Green riders Jett Reynolds, Lance Kobusch, Joey Crown and Jordan Bailey are planning to attend and race for the first-ever championships at the inaugural event. "We could not be more grateful to Jeremy for committing his time to be at the JuniorMotoX event," said Eric Peronnard, co-creator of the Junior- MotoX. "He is the King of Supercross so his insight will really be valuable to the racers." The Lucas Oil JuniorMotoX, pre- sented by Monster Energy, will bring amateur racing indoors with an outdoor MX-style course that in- cludes some supercross elements. The course will be nearly 2000 feet long featuring some of the best dirt on earth. Jerry Masterpool will provide input on track design, which will include a separate lane featuring more challenging obstacles for the more experienced riders/classes. The Lucas Oil JuniorMotoX, presented by Mon- ster Energy will also feature a live webcast of the Friday qualifiers and Saturday night main events, plus a feature show on MAVTV.
