CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "That was a classic Dungey don't-throw-it-away race." Valentino Rossi What an awesome perfor- mance by Valentino Rossi [at Jerez]. The best thing about this is that a good deal of peo- ple are talking in reference to him as a has-been or is finished in this sport. Absolutely not! He beat Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez at their home track. Not only did he beat them, he spanked them! Never, and I mean never, count the Doctor out, 'cuz when you do, he goes out and does what he did today. Thanks for the show, Vale. Jacques Simms Some people considered Rossi to be washed up. Remember, he would have been the champ if they hadn't screwed him out of it last year! And he has a shot at being the champ again this year! Stan Prapotnik Thank you, Cycle News, since [the MotoGP] series is no longer on commercial TV networks, and the other sports channels (ESPN) do not cover racing in general anymore, at least I have a reliable source! James Clapp Amazing! Haven't seen VR ride like this—so dominant it was boring—in a long time. Hope he can keep this up and win 2016. Joseph H Cross Foxborough Supercross Finally we got a supercross back in our area. It was a thrill all day to be there in the pits and see the race as well. The track was tight and a bit narrow also. I raced the 250 Expert class on Amateur day that followed the last race here in 1990. Other than missing the sounds of factory two-strokes, the rac- ing seemed very similar to what it was back in the day. Twenty laps and the guy who wants it the most wins. Good stuff. Carl Leguia So glad to see Suzuki and Ka- wasaki mechanics finally get- ting the bikes to fit their fastest riders and vice versa. Hopefully the outdoor season will be a dogfight to the end. Andrus Chesley That was a classic Dungey don't-throw-it-away race. [He showed] class on the podium, as well. Gregory Eddinger Dungey is playing it smart [and] Roczen was a man on a mis- sion. Nationals should be good if the top guys can stay healthy. Terry Heath James Stewart Injuries aside, James Stewart does look out of shape and "different." He has also been quick to throw in the towel at most races this supercross season. With the outdoor tracks being more difficult and the races longer, I really believe he is at risk of serious injury should he decide to enter the series. My personal feeling is James should retire, get some media training, and rebuild his image through the announcers' booth and marketing the sport. Charles Moran Come on James. Get it to- gether and come back strong with no excuses. You are way too young to quit. And it is more fun for the fans when you are riding well.
