en Roczen accomplished what he had set
out to do and that was to keep the 2016
450SX title chase going for at least one
more round, thus keeping his title chance—albeit
a very slim chance—alive. He really had only one
option of doing so at the 15th round of the 17-round
championship, and that was to win, which would
prevent Ryan Dungey from clinching, and that's ex-
actly what the RCH/Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John's
Suzuki rider did, and he did it impressively.
Roczen passed and beat points leader Dungey
in both their heat and main events to prevent the
Red Bull KTM rider from coming away with the
crown. However, the win pretty much delays the
inevitable. Instead of having to win to clinch the
title like he had to do in Foxoborough, Dungy only
has to finish 14th or better next week in New Jer-
sey to officially claim his third (and second straight)
