"Today was pretty tough, especially for my first one back," said Seely. "I got through practice pretty good; the track was super technical and kind of slow, which I enjoyed. I qualified fifth but it was pretty much downhill from there. I had a little tip-over in the heat race, then went back out for the semi, where somebody's footpeg went into my front wheel in the first turn, breaking a few of my spokes and sending me to the ground. I landed on my shoulder and neck, which I injured a couple weeks back, so I didn't know if I was going to go back out for the LCQ. I'm kind of riding with a good amount of pain right now but trying to push through it. I just want to show some heart, though, so I went back out and once the adrenaline kicked in I was able to ride through it. Going to the LCQ is always nerve wracking but I was able to transfer to the main. With such a bad gate pick in the main, I didn't ex- 33 JOSH GRANT 11 TH 450SX Josh Grant, who is filling in for the injured Wil Hahn on the Monster Energy Kawasaki Team, had some time in the spotlight, like when he won his semi, but he couldn't keep the fire lit in the main. "The weekend went well," said Grant. "I struggled a little early on because of the mud, but the rain cleared up and the track was good for the races. I won my semi, which is always good and gave me some momentum heading into the main event. I had another great start in the main that put me in a good position to mix it up early on. I couldn't quite find my groove and it cost me early on, but I was able to settle into seventh. Near the end of the race I made a mistake in the whoops and it cost me a few spots. Overall, I'm really happy with the progress I'm making, I'm looking forward to the last two rounds and then heading outdoors." 49 MARTIN DAVALOS 1 ST 250SX Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's Martin Davalos was happy to nab his second win of the season, which was helped by getting good starts. "My starts were pretty good all day," said Davalos. "My start was great in my heat race, but I hit neutral in the first rhythm section, then I got squirrelly in the rut and crashed, so that put me behind. I was actually dead last and came all the way back to fourth. I felt good throughout the day. The track was tough, slippery and rutted but it came out okay. In the main, my exit off the start wasn't great but I knew I had to be consistent. I was very patient in the first turn and rode a smart race. I stayed within my limits. It was definitely hard to be up front and have Jeremy [Martin] switching and trying new stuff right behind me. I felt good throughout the moto and I'm pretty pumped with this win. I had a pretty good drive in the whoops, and knew I had to be consistent in the corner and not try to rush it. It was a great race overall.
