CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "We don't embrace the rider who's winning. We embrace the rider that makes us enjoy watching the sport." Capturing The Essence Of Vintage Just wanted to comment on the great coverage of the Vintage Inter-Am in Idaho. Even though this was not one of our events, Steve Cox captured the essence of this weekend and others like it. We (AHRMA) have something simi- lar going on nearly every week- end. Moto-Rewind at Unadilla, Barber or Diamond Don's, are just a couple of amazing desti- nation events we have planned. Thanks again for the ink, and for making Cycle News the amazing read that it is! Fred Guidi AHRMA National Off-Road Director Rossi Haters In response to last week's Letters to the Editor from Mr. Walsh and Mr. Mello, they are obviously such strong haters of Valentino Rossi that they can't think straight. Mr. Walsh, after Rossi's lackluster years on the Duca- tis he was smart to stick with what works for the next two years—Yamaha. "Milk the cash cow?" Really? Rossi is a top contender so him staying in the game is a logical move. Don't fault him because the majority of fans adore him, which brings more interest to MotoGP, which brings in more money. Rossi won't bring in any more titles? Really. He would be the 2015 champion had it not been for unfortunate circumstances. Mr. Mello, Rossi hasn't done a thing in GP racing for the last six years? So second place in the championship for 2014 and 2015 is "noth- ing?" Your statement "he's a nobody" is completely baffling. Put aside his nine titles, 112 wins and 212 podiums and you still have the most loved MotoGP rider. We don't embrace the rider who's winning. We embrace the rider that makes us enjoy watching the sport. And nobody can compete with Valentino Rossi and the empire he has built through his popularity. The day he retires will have a huge negative impact on the sport overall, and I don't look forward to it. Scott Wilkinson Triumph Bonneville T120 Just ordered one today! Richard Poe They have done a great job with the styling. The fake carbs look good. Jim Clausen Throwback Thursday Gatorback Gatorback deserves a round of the outdoor motocross na- tional race series. Return it to Gainesville, Florida! All of the old issues have faded into dust, while the Unlimited Sports track contin- ues to provide Florida's best motocross races. Todd Lyman Letters to the editor can be sent to voices@cyclenews.com. Published letters do not necessarily reflect the position of Cycle News.
