WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 53 ISSUE 15 APRIL 19, 2016 P49
peat winner, Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha's
Jeremy Martin, who recovered nicely from his
previous crashed-induced DNF at Indianapo-
lis.
Points leader Malcolm Stewart had a ter-
rible main event despite getting off to a good
start. One stall plus three crashes equaled
an eighth-place finish for the GEICO Honda
Team rider. Considering all that happened to
him, though, it could've been a lot worse. He
still leads the 250SX East championship but
by just one point now. Aaron Plessinger, who
finished second on the night, is breathing
down Stewart's neck.
STRAIGHT VICTORY
For the first time all year, Ryan Dungey had to
qualify for the main event through a semi (after
clipping Justin Barcia's rear wheel in the hectic
first laps of his heat), but that didn't seem to
rattle him at all. He went on to win the main
event for the third consecutive time.
