otoAmerica number one,
Cameron Beaubier, used
his factory Monster En-
ergy/Graves Yamaha YZF-R1 to fi-
nally take his first win of what has
already become a very trying sea-
son in race two of round two in
the Suzuki Superbike Shootout of
Georgia at Road Atlanta over the
weekend. Trying in that despite
the win, Beaubier is still languish-
ing in seventh in the points thanks
to a second race crash, this one
not of his fault, when his Graves
teammate and former Superbike
Champion Josh Hayes took them
both out of race one.
Spain's former Moto2 World
Champion Toni Elias (Yoshimura
Suzuki) took his third race win
in a row in race one thanks to
Beaubier's misfortune at a track
he described as one of the
most difficult he has raced in
his storied career, but crashed
out of race two to end the round
second on points to new cham-
pionship leader, Yoshimura
teammate Roger Hayden.
SUPERBIKE/SUPERSTOCK 1000
Following a race weekend that
was nothing short of a disaster
for the defending MotoAmerica
Superbike Champion, Beaubier
was immediately on the pace
at Road Atlanta, taking his sixth
