SUPERCROSS ROUND 14 / APRIL 16, 2016 ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI / THE DOME AT AMERICA'S CENTER P56 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES It was another frustrating day for Yo- shimura Suzuki's James Stewart. In his heat race, he and Weston Peick tangled with Stewart taking the brunt of collision when their lines crossed entering a turn—Peick was taking the high route (in the air) and Stewart the low route (both wheels on the ground). Both riders got up (though it took Stewart a little while) and fin- ished the race, but Stewart sat out the rest of the night with a sore back. Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin had a disappointing night. He was looking to get on the podium in the 450SX main while running fifth behind Ja- son Anderson, who eventually moved into third after running Justin Brayton wide and off the track. Musquin later went down on his own after land- ing awkwardly from a jump. He got up but eventually had to pull into the mechanics area with an issue with his holeshot device. He ended up 15th. Chad Reed reached a milestone at the St. Louis Supercross, as it was his 200th career supercross start. A bad started eliminated any chance of celebrating it on the podium, but he did ride well. The two-time SX champ started off in 13th place and finished in sixth. The Monster Energy/Yama- ha rider says he has no plans to retire anytime soon. Smartop MotoConcepts Racing's Mike Alessi made use of one of his usual good starts and came away with a heat-race win, topping Trey Canard, Josh Grant, Marvin Musquin and Chad Reed. Unfortunately for him, he was not able to back up that good start with another in the main event. He completed the first lap just inside the top 10 and went on to fin- ish ninth. Briefly... 450SX 1. McElrath admits that his wrist is still not 100 percent yet.
