SUPERCROSS
MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM WORLD
ROUND 14 / APRIL 16, 2016
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI / THE DOME AT AMERICA'S CENTER
P52
250SX
250SX EAST
As crazy as the 250SX East championship has
been so far with so many different winners and
so much unpredictability, the St. Louis round
seemed maybe, well, predictable since every-
thing was going Malcolm Stewart's way. He was
quickest in qualifying, he won his heat race, and
the points leader seemed to be a safe bet to be
the St. Louis winner. And that was even further
confirmed when he narrowly escaped a big
pileup in the first turn of the 15-lap main event and
came out in second place (after passing Gannon
Audette) right behind Jeremy Martin. But a few
turns later, things started unraveling quickly for
the championship leader.
He stalled his bike in a sand turn, and just after
having restarted it, as was letting out the clutch,
he got slammed to the ground by another rider,
Matt Bisceglia, who had moments early run off
the track while actually trying to avoid the stalled
rider. Bisceglia was re-entering the track when
Jeremy Martin (6) made good use of a
fast start in the 250SX East main and
ran off with the win, while points leader
Malcolm Stewart (behind a Tuff Block)
had troubles staying on two wheels.
