SUPERCROSS ROUND 13 / APRIL 9, 2016 INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA / LUCAS OIL STADIUM P84 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES 1 RYAN DUNGEY 1ST 450SX In Indianapolis, Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey ended up in a knock-down, drag-out battle with Ken Roczen that pushed the two almost 30 sec- onds clear of third place on his way to the 29th win of his career—officially moving him past former career supercross victories record holder Ricky Johnson (28 wins) on the all-time list. "First off, that battle, that's what it's all about," Dungey said. "It's good to be able to work hard and fight to the end, and it's a rewarding finish, but tonight wasn't just the pressure that was tough, but the ruts that we were dealing with, too. You could see we both made mistakes." Dungey extended his points lead to 45 over Roczen with four rounds left to run. 21 JASON ANDERSON 3RD 450SX Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Jason Anderson, who won his heat race, got a top-10 start in the main and fought his way through the pack and up to third by the 12th lap where he would finish. "Indy was good for me," said Anderson. "I had some good prac- tices. The track was very rutted, but I still felt like I was riding well and I ended up qualify- ing fourth. I got into the lead in the heat race and was able to hold off Dungey for the win. I felt like I had a good start going into the first corner of the main, but then I just got shuffled back really quick. It was chaos for a little bit, but I managed and came out with a third." 94 KEN ROCZEN 2ND 450SX The other half of the epic Indianapo- lis 450SX battle, RCH Suzuki's Ken Roczen, was actually able to snatch the lead away from Dungey a few times, only for Dungey to strike right back, or for Roczen to make a costly error in the tough and technical Indy dirt. "First off, I've been making quite a few changes to the bike, and I made another change this week that worked great," Roczen said. "I have a lot more confidence and a lot more faith in the bike, so that's a big thing. Other than that, tonight was an awesome race. I fought the whole way, and I just wish the race were a little bit longer tonight."
