WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP VOL. 53 ISSUE 14 APRIL 12, 2016 P81 very best racers in the sport struggled with the track condi- tions, Aaron Plessinger made it look easy. He won his heat race to start the night, then went on to absolutely domi- nate the main event, leading every lap on his way to lapping up to 10th place in the 15-lap main. Perhaps more importantly, Plessinger moved himself into second in the points stand- ings behind GEICO Honda's Malcolm Stewart (second in Indianapolis) and now sits only 10 points behind Stewart with four rounds left to run. In other words, he controls his own destiny, in part thanks to a big crash by his teammate and heat-one winner Jeremy Martin. Martin went down on lap nine of the main event while running third and hit the ground so hard that his handlebars came off of his YZ250F. Even if he wasn't too beat up to continue, his bike was, and just like that he went from just a few points behind Stewart to 28 points behind in fourth place. A favorite coming into the 250SX East, Jeremy Martin will need a lot of help if he's going to win a supercross championship in 2016. background has played in his victories, and especially his win in Indianapolis. With the ruts and the constantly shifting dirt caus- ing racers to change their lines, or at least their approach to their lines, throughout the race, it's easy to figure that a background in woods racing would be very helpful. And on a night where the Aaron Plessinger made it five different winners in as many races in the 250SX East main event. He is just 10 points out of first place in the championship.
